The Property is an island (inside a zone of Reserve for the Biosphere) located in the river shore and opposite to a marsh. It is a small hill full of native forest. In a sandbank has been recovered a permanent garden sinergenic. At the front and separated by the water, there is a hillside of near 300 meters high of rock, with springs and native trees. In the zone are 2 lakes to 30 minutes by treaking one of other one, also 14 thermal centers, 2 national parks and two volcanoes besides the ecopueblo Pualafquén, where there is an ecological community who lives since three years ago. The farm is inside the sea by south side. Own spring water. We have a special house to wwoofers, where easily live 6 people. The wwoofer´s house has cooking, bathroom, hall and two bedrooms (4 and 2 people each), with fire. Meals are vegetarians and simple. The job´ soul is in community, and the meals go into that idea. One job in the day is preparing meals to all people, turning on each day . We are a little family and we have a friendly female dog who care off the animals dangerous to crops. It is a mountain farm situed in a old colony farm.   Organic and animal force is used.  There  is availibility  to two people in rustic but comfortable  house with bathroom,  warm water and fire wood cooking. Also there is a lot of places to tents.  There are not rules to prepare foods, each one prepare itself.  There are orchard with potatoes and  also meet some time. In the farm work even 3 people, a manager (Gabriel)  and two workers   In summer phe people get up, till 8 to grass tillage. We are working to develop   a productive farm, with  grains, dehidrated fruit, wool and fine meat, all animal force done. It would be  possible to receive children, but  the travel to farm is complex to them.

We produce 70% of our food and the rest we buy. We grow vegetables and have all kinds of animals to care for. We produce honey, marmalade, cheese and home made bread.  There is a  little touristic  house also.  We prefer  voluntaires  to speak Spanish a little  and be able to learn English  to us.  Some voluntaire with skills in wood or leather handicrafts,   able to learn us  about it  would be great! . The farm is situated at 8 km distance to  the city  of  Osorno. We can receive up to 5 persons in diferent  bedrooms. The pleasant farm house is arounded by great native trees and pasture land..  There are several milk products made by ourselfs also rey bred. We always have diferent fruits, often fish, some meat  and vegetables from the local market.  During 2009 we will have our own vegetables . Actually we are 4 people. .  From  2009 the household and volunteers work will be managed by a  chilean women: The minimum stay is 2 weeks. Saturday work is only in the morning. The daily work is 6 hours. At morning volunteers  learn to milk cows, make cheese. We have to multiplicate plants   in a greenhouse, do planting in autum, keep clear the native  plants within the forestation also pruning and fence works.  Visitors should think in rainy and ometimes cold days.

We are 290 km south of Coyhaique, in Puerto Guadal, a little town on the shores of General Carrera lake. We are few  km to Carretera Austral and 100 km to Chile Chico. Our land is near   Puerto Guadal. It has 16 has of native forest, birdwatching, some fruit trees and some chickens, horses and ducks coming soon. In this land we are going to develope our Project  www.notouristdestination.com (before we had it developed in Huelmo, a little village close to Puerto Montt). Now we are going to open an eco-camping with organic orchards, compost toilets, grey waters collection, bio-building, etc, following some permaculture principles. We want to build a straw bale house with green roof next year. We are starting from scratch, so there are lots to do: orchards, greenhouse, bio-building, collecting firewood, bread making, chopping rosa mosqueta, building compost toilets, sun-cooking, sun-hot-water system, keeping paths open, etc, etc..
Wwoofers with knowledges about permaculture, bio-building, sun-energy, grey waters,etc.,  are specially welcome. For the moment, we don´t have any extra room. Wwoofers can camp and we share our little kitchen-living room with. Wwoofer can cook for him/herself or we share with. We make our own bread, soon we will get vegetables and eggs from our land. We are not vegetarian.  We are a couple, a Spanish and a Chilean who want to live in a sustainable way, trying to be a bit self-sufficient from the system. We are not farmers, but we are learning every day. The town of Puerto Guadal and surroundings has an interesting social history, first settlers, how they survive, and still it is possible to talk with this old people and share a mate with.
